It might be intimidating for many businesses to enter the quickly evolving realm of chatbots and generative artificial intelligence.
Nevertheless, as businesses invest in these sizable language models and the technology that enables their human-like conversations, OpenAI's ChatGPT, Microsoft's Bing AI, and Google's Bard are all in the spotlight.
According to Sultan Saidov, co-founder and president of Beamery, an international SaaS company that has its own AI language model platform called TalentGPT, ChatGPT and AI have the potential to revitalise the entire recruitment and retention experience for both candidates and employees.
Candidates favour a personable hiring process
Companies still battle with HR challenges like return-to-office mandates, poor productivity, disengagement, and retention even as layoffs dominate the labour market.
Saidov advises implementing AI and chatbots at the beginning of the employee journey—job applications and recruitment—to help mitigate these challenges.
According to Sameer Penakalapati, CEO of Ceipal, an AI-driven talent acquisition platform, AI can assist at every level of the applicant experience, including resume screening, arranging candidate interviews, and aiding onboarding.
Chatbots can connect with candidates through messaging about common issues like compensation expectations, according to Penakalapati. "AI can screen and rank candidates from the beginning by categorising them into a ranking system for recruiters," he said.
Companies with employee-focused experiences will retain their workers
Employees blame internal, sometimes antiquated processes at their employer for leaving or not staying engaged, whether it results in decreased productivity or quiet resignation. Some experts already believe that VR and AI will fundamentally alter these problems.
According to Saidov, businesses must make the same kind of investments in their employees' lives as they do in those of their clients.
He compares it to how users of Google Maps use that service, saying, "It tells you exactly how to travel from here to there for a specific destination. There is nothing comparable for a worker trying to negotiate decisions within their organisation.
AI can promote inclusiveness and diversity.
HR leaders may find it useful to use ChatGPT and AI to overcome difficulties related to diversity and inclusion. According to research, employee discontent is on the rise, with Black workers reporting the highest levels of displeasure. The main reasons Black employees are dissatisfied include issues with pay transparency, a misalignment of personal values with company principles, and a need for more diverse leadership.
"The transparency that AI can provide in assisting with choices in the employee experience creates more than just a nicer experience," added Saidov. It offers a chance to promote greater inclusivity.
By creating career routes and connecting individuals to positions that are more focused on abilities than education, AI and chatbots might assist boost inclusivity.
